This represents my journey at eight years old when I was dying after I was shot during the Rhodesian War. Here is an excerpt from my upcoming book:
The whole scene of viewing my body begins to look like a flat photograph that I am about to fold closed and seal in an envelope. I stop watching what is down below and turn to what is up above. I dive upward as if there is a warm current of living air that supports my lift off. I am slipping off clothes with my name on them and becoming free to move into this stream of open space that is ever so gentle and pure.
